Whigham UMC

The WUMC mission is "To win souls for Jesus Christ through witness by: Putting our faith into practice, nurturing one another in Faith and communicating the love of God through every means possible."

We have Vacation Bible School every summer and it is open to the whole community. Its the fun thing to do every Summer as we spend the week teaching with Bible, crafts, recreation, and music.

Confirmation Class   We have Confirmation every other year and use "Claim the Name" resource.

The United Methodist Women meet the first Monday of every month at 10:00 a.m. The UMW seeks to be mission minded with ministries like comforting grieving families during their time of need by serving a luncheon following funeral servies for the community and church members.

The UMW also sponsors Holy Week Services each year the week leading up to Easter.

Our Men meet on Thursday mornings at the Crooked Hook Restaurant for fellowship, breakfast and a Bible study.

Family Night Supper is held each 2nd Sunday night at 6:00pm as we enjoy a time of christian fellowship.  Each family brings a basket supper to share.  This time is used to socialize with each other and from time to time enjoy a variety of programs.

A Girl Scout Troop is sponsored by WUMC and lead by Tammy Crawford, a WUMC member.

Cub Scout Pack 383 is sponsored by WUMC and meets on Thursdays at 7:00pm at the church. Cub Leader, Cathy Shepherd is a WUMC member.

Boy Scout Troop 383 is sponsored by the Whigham Community Club but has many WUMC members. The troop is lead by Travis Shepherd, a WUMC member.

Whigham UMC uses the Phonetree calling system for it's prayer chain.  This is a technology based system that will call individual homes to keep them up to date on church events as well as give prayer requests for individuals.  If you are not receiving the phone tree you can call the church office and give your phone number and asked to be added.  If you have prayer requests or other information to get out to the church please call the church office.  This is an exciting new ministry tool and will be a very useful asset to the Whigham UMC.
